The rest of the Weekend

Well, to finish up my post from Saturday afternoon…

After my wife came home, we had a nice but simple dinner at home, watched some TV, and it was good. Had a great time not doing a whole hell of a lot.
And then we had some fun on Sunday, too. Definitely slept in late, and then we went over to the Dallas Arboretum, and walked around there for awhile. It’s always nice to see the Arboretum, as it’s pretty, and it’s cheap exercise. Plus this weekend is Dallas Blooms starting, their annual spring celebration of flowers. It’s not totally in full force yet, but some of it was, plus what was there looked really good anyway.
Then my wife and I did something totally goofy. We went over to Southfork Ranch. Did the touristy thing and visited the “Ewing” ranchhouse, walked around the grounds, and basically had a fun time. We’re both watching the show on SoapNet. I can’t remember exactly when it started last year, but they’re running one episode every M-F, and Dallas is one of (if not the) my favorite all time show, so the chance to watch it all over again from start to finish is cool. The show ran for 13 seasons, including a 5 episode mini-series at the start, and this past Friday, they started Season 6. At the current rate of episodes, I figure it will take them until January of 2005 to make an entire run through the whole show. So with both of us watching the show again, we figured it would be kind of fun to head over to Southfork (as it’s about 13 miles or so from our house) and check it out.
That was fun, and afterwards we went out to dinner and had some Tex-Mex. Went home and realized we had a fun day.
I had a wonderful weekend, and while I don’t normally have this feeling, it was the kind of weekend that wanted to make me NOT go to work on Monday, especially since my wife is off from work today, too.
