For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been one who drinks Slurpees. I, like most others seem to enjoy suffering through a bout of brain freeze. However, when my office moved HQ, there was a 7-11 pretty close, and you would think that’d be great, but since we moved our office HQ, I haven’t had very many, and none from the one that’s close to us.

Well, that changed tonight, because I stopped in there, and decided to pick up one. I also decided to try their new “Diet Pepsi” slurpee. Now I’ve never been a Pepsi fan, I’ve always liked Coke (felt Pepsi was too sweet). From what I read about this slurpee, it’s a “zero” in Weight Watchers lingo. Means it doesn’t count towards my food intake for the day. That was a rearson to try it. The fact it was Diet Pepsi based was a reason for me not to like it.

Still, I wanted to give it a shot, and it was surprisingly good. I always loved the Coke Slurpees, and this one tasts pretty much like a Coke Slurpee, except just a tad sweeter. I always felt that Pepsi was nausteatingly sweeter than Coke, but this is just slightly sweeter. It’s something good, so I’ll definitely be stopping back to pick up some more.

If you like Slurpees, give it a shot – it’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

I find it weird that some people find Pepsi sweeter than Coke, but tastes differ and you can’t change that.
I myself am a Diet Pepsi fan, being drinking it for years, and when I go out and have a drink somewhere, and all they serve is Coke, I always leave half the glass because it tastes too sweet.
People I know who prefer Pepsi over Coke, share the same experiences. But there aren’t many around :p
    Cheers Joe!

I love diet Coke. It is my favorite drink in the entire world and i always have to have one before I can go to sleep. But since I started drinking diet Coke and eating better I have had to forsake a lot of foods with calories, like ice cream and slurpees.
But now the diet Pepsi slurpee has arrived, and it feels like I’m having a treat when in fact I am just having my diet Coke in the frozen form and pepsi instead. Now if 7-11 came out with a diet Coke slurpee that would be AWESOME…

    Where’d my Slurpee Go?

Last September, I wrote a blog entry about the greatness that is the Diet Pepsi Slurpee. It’s a great item for folks on a diet, or just don’t want to ingest a bunch of frozen sugar. Problem is that I…

they just opened a 7-11 in the UES here in NYC. Hordes of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen types live by the diet coke slurpee machine. I love it, it’s like a meal AND dessert all in one.
Combine that with a 40 calorie Tasti D-lite frozen yogurt and you’ve got yourself a well balanced diet.

I agree with you the way you view the issue. I remember Jack London once said everything positive has a negative side; everything negative has positive side. It is also interesting to see different viewpoints & learn useful things in the discussion.

HELP SAVE THE DIET PEPSi SLURPEE.
    Do you have any suggestions?
Are you awhere that 7-eleven has made a decision to cancell Diet Pepsi Slurpee (o calorie)?
I recently learned about a web site called MySlurpeeCup. I was very anxious and responded with the following… I never got a response. Help!
    Alex,
My name is Jeff Goldstein or better known as Mr. Diet Pepsi Slurpee Man( or sometimes they just call me Mr. Slurpee).
The reason for the above is that I always am carrying a large 64oz. insulated Slurpee cup where ever I go. I consume at least two cupfulls a day (sometimes three). Over the last three years I have lost over 130 lb. I contribute this to the fact that I have totally stopped snacking and have eliminated junk food in-between meals, because I keep myself full with zero calorie Diet Pepsi Slurpee.
Over the last couple of weeks the supply of the Diet Pepsi syrup is diminishing an according to 7-eleven Headquarters, they are no longer showing the product available. Pepsi tells me that they are able to produce the product how ever it is exclusive for 7-eleven and they have removed it from their product list. It seems as though one company doesn’t know what the other is doing.
My biggest concern is that 7-eleven doesn’t understand that the other sugar free low calorie products such as Crystal Lite contains 5 calories per once, that means that a 64 oz drink is equal in calories to a chocolate candy bar or other sweets and most junk foods.
I would like to get a world wide petition started and hopefullly getting even the American Diabetes Asso. involved to help keep the Diet Pepsi in the Slurpee machines at 7-eleven.
Our local hospital has a Cardiac Rehab unit and I have gotten most of my friends from there to have started the Diet Pepsi Slurpee crave. They all agree with me and do not no what they are going to due without Diet Pepsi Slurpee?
This year there has ben more than 200,000 persons who have had Gastric By-pass surgeries for weight loss and obestity, these people need Diet Pepsi Slurpee to help them maintain their weight losses. The weight loss industry is amoung the biggest and fastest growing industries in the world today. What’s wrong with 7-eleven and or Pepsi Cola not to see the marketing benifits of this product?
I ask your assistance to help me get the word out and get aboard to “Save the Diet Pepsi Slurpe at 7-eleven.”
    Thank you for your assistance,
    Jeff Goldstein

I think slurpees are pretty gross. Not because of taste or health reasons, but because of how sticky they can be. My mouth feels weird at the end, and I can’t imagine adding soda to the equation would help.
