A fun little game
At Christmas, my wife bought me a couple of videogames. One was an expansion pack for Sim City 4, and the other was SimGolf. I did not ask for SimGolf, my wife remembered a comment I had made awhile back “I hate golf, but I love golf games”. So when she was in the store to get the Sim City 4 addon, she took a chance and got SimGolf. I had heard some good things about it, but had never actually played it.
My brother and I used to get a kick out of the old Jack Nicklaus golf games where you could build your own courses, and then play them. Well, SimGolf is right up that alley. You get to build golf courses, but it’s not like a real golf “simulator” is. This is “Sim” land. Which means you build golf courses, and your little sims get to play on them, rate your course, etc, etc, etc.. The more popular your course is, the more money you make, the better you can make your course, etc, etc, etc. You can then buy more golf courses, build them, up, and have a golf empire.
Now you can play the courses you make, but it’s not like a golf game like Links, or something “legit” like that. You can play, but you play as a Sim – so it’s not a true golf game in that aspect. Still, it’s fun to play them, and make money playing your courses. If you like “Sim” games, you probably would like this. Yes, it’s a golf game, but not in the classic since, it’s more a Sim game.
As I said, my wife got this for me for Christmas, and I just tonight played it for the first time. I should have played it sooner, it was cute, and a lot of fun. Of course, if you don’t like “Sim” games, you probably won’t like this, either. It is cheap now, too. The game is a couple of years old, and can be picked up new at the moment for $9.99. It’s a fun, cheap little game, and I recommend it.
