Congragulations to the Red Sox who won the World Series tonight. What’s most amazing to me is not the fact that it’s been 86 years since they last won. It’s the fact that they were one inning away from being swept out of the playoffs by the Evil Empire in the ALCS. They came back won four in a row there to take that series, then won four in a row to sweep the World Series.

I was most impressed with their team to win 8 straight in the playoffs like that.

A few former Rangers will get rings now because of that. Gabe Kapler (RF) & Doug Mirabelli (C) were the two active players. There’s also Bill Haselman (Coach, was a catcher with us) and Terry Francona (MGR, was a bench coach with us) as well.

The best thing about all of this of course is tha Steinbrenner was at home. That is always a good thing.

The Curse of the Bambino is dead. Long live the curse of A-Rod!
