- The Death of Time

Notes
- This was the final story for the last of the OG companions, Ian & Barbara.
- It was the first story for new companion Steven Taylor.
- Peter Purves played two characters in the story. New companion Steven Taylor as well as “American tourist” Morton Dill, although not in the same episode.
- The Beatles clip in Episode 1 is removed from US prints of the story, but is in the UK originals.
- An amusing fact about that Beatles clip is that it was taken from an episode of “Top of the Pops” which is now missing, so the only segment of that episode that survives is the clip that is in this Doctor Who episode.

The first of 6 episodes of "The Chase", the third overall Dalek story. This first ep has a sequence w/the Beatles that was excised from US DVDs, but is fun if you can see it. pic.twitter.com/acUCuGZFcy

The Tardis lands and the crew explore. Barbara sees the Daleks on the visualizer and realizes the Daleks are chasing them. The Doctor & Barbara set off to find Ian & Vicki. pic.twitter.com/4jUN0YBliQ
A quick follow up to yesterday's #DoctorWhoMarathon post. This scene with Bill Hartnell exclaiming "THE DALEKS!" gets me every time. I love the inflection here. It's both comical and serious at the same time. I don't know why, but I love this small bit. #DoctorWho pic.twitter.com/pBRHMEIjkw

The crew are eventually reunited w/help of natives, but are blocked by the Daleks who have surrounded the Tardis. After some fun with a Dalek, they escape and the chase is on. pic.twitter.com/z4KIpgF2Cl
... and in another video update for #DoctorWhoMarathon, Episode 2 of "The Chase" might have the first ever levitating Dalek in #DoctorWho history. ;) pic.twitter.com/xNrkS6SxlP

The crew are chased by the Daleks, landing on top of the Empire State Building in New York & the Mary Celeste trying to get away. That's the bulk of this episode. But.... pic.twitter.com/uJeTpbuWJD

The glory here is 5 mins w/the character "Morton Dill" played by @purves_peter. His "stereotypical American" interactions w/crew & a Dalek are awesome. #BringBackDill pic.twitter.com/NupNpb2mYZ

The chase continues, with the crew landing in basically a haunted house. Made for silliness with Daleks interacting with Frankenstein. The Tardis leaves Vicki behind, tho. pic.twitter.com/g0OpGUeF3E

The Daleks decide to duplicate the Doctor so their robot can kill the Tardis crew. Doesn't look a whole lot like Hartnell, tho. The crew decide to stop & fight the Daleks. pic.twitter.com/j1pDGUWqhB

The Daleks eventually get into the city and there's a huge fight between them and the Mechanoids - which for 1965 Who has some decent sfx. Very 60's stuff here for sure. pic.twitter.com/iHMsCwQzh0

During the battle, the city is destroyed w/Daleks & Mechanoids. Ian & Barbara depart the show and return home in the Dalek ship. Steven stows away in the Tardis. pic.twitter.com/XaDZr2SkDG

Forgot this. @Purves_Peter played both Morton Dill from Ep3 and Steven Taylor from Ep6. It's one of the only times (only?) an actor has played 2 characters in same story. pic.twitter.com/tITkM3ceMl
