Children in Need 2005

This Story: Series 2, Special 1. Production Code 2.4x
Overall: Not an official episode, so no story or ep count
Airdate: 18 Nov 2005
Written by Russell T Davies
Directed by Euros Lyn

Notes

  • Canonically this falls inbetween “The Parting of the Ways” and “The Christmas Invasion“, and show’s Rose’s reaction to the regeneration of the Doctor, something that is not seen in Christmas Invasion.
  • Officially, this short is untitled, but most refer to it as “Children in Need 2005”. Some others refer to it as “Born Again”. I’m using Children in Need 2005, as that’s where it appeared, and I did not want to use “Untitled” as the name of the thing here.
  • This was not aired as a proper episode.  As such, it does not have an episode number or a story number in the overall count.
  • This was produced inbetween “The Girl in the Fireplace” and “Rise of the Cybermen“. As such, Tennant had already made 5 full episodes (first 4 of Series 2 plus the Xmas special) before filming this “first moment” as the Doctor.

A 6 min Children in Need segment, not a proper episode as such. It's just David Tennant & Billie Piper on the Tardis set - no one else. It exists solely to show Rose's reaction to the regeneration. Not the… pic.twitter.com/FieGL9poJZ
