Attack of the Graske
Attack of the Graske
This Story: Series 2, Special Short
Overall: Not a proper episode, so not part of episode/story count.
Airdate: 25 Dec 2008
Written by Gareth Roberts
Directed by Ashley Way
Description:
This was an interactive BBC game that could be played on their TV systems. It went out originally after David Tennant’s first episode Christmas 2005. It involved the Doctor giving sonic screwdriver powers to the viewer where they could play a game with him trying to solve puzzles and defeat an enemy called the Graske. It was a puzzle type game where you could affect how things happened based on choices made. There was a “win” and a “lose” scenario here.
Despite being 15 mins long, a lot of time was taken up with screens offering you choices of things to make. It was available on the BBC website until Adobe Flash was discontinued in 2021.
Bit of fun, but more an interactive game than a proper episode as such.
Notes
- Originally aired as an interactive BBC TV Red Button game immediately after “The Christmas Invasion”.
- It was made available on the BBC Website to play on 18 Jan 2006. It remained online until 2021 when Adobe Flash (required to play) was itself discontinued.
- Was the only “episode” of modern Doctor Who transmitted in 4×3 screen resolution.
