Cold War

This Story: Series 7, Story 9. Production Code 7.7
Overall: Story 234, Episode 799
Airdate: 13 Apr 2013
Written by Mark Gatiss
Directed by Douglas Mackinnon

Notes

  • This is the first time we’ve seen the Ice Warriors since 1972’s “Monster of Peladon“.
  • This is the first time we see the Ice Warriors out of their armor, which is itself a new concept.  Prior to this, every appearance had them just in their “armor”.

I liked this one, and it can be boiled down to one simple thing - the Ice Warriors are back for first time since 1972! Also - David freakin' Warner! The fun for this one was seeing how pic.twitter.com/pFnvmMSVNR

they updated the Warriors, as they are rather lumbering creatures. Great drama w/the Doctor missing the Tardis stuck at the bottom of the ocean in a sub. Nice "no helmet" look for the IW. pic.twitter.com/YOSa0BWQ3z
