The Night of the Doctor

This Story: 50th Anniversary Special Prequel. Production Code 7.15x
Overall: Not a proper episode, so no count
Airdate: 14 Nov 2013
Written by Steven Moffat
Directed by John Hayes

Notes

  • This is an online prequel to the 50th Anniversary Special, “The Day of the Doctor”.  It was released on Youtube, and is still available there to this day (while being released on physical media later on).
  • This was supposed to be released later than it was, but was released on this date, to avoid it being leaked and coming from an unofficial source.
  • The actual release date was on Paul McGann’s 54th birthday.
  • It name drops several companions of the Eighth Doctor from Big Finish audios, which effectively canonizes those stories.  It unfortunately does not include Grace Holloway, his companion from the 1996 TV Movie (due to some rights issues with that story).
