Camille

This Story: Season 4, Episode 1
Overall: Story 19, Episode 19
Airdate: 14 Feb 1991
Written by Rob Grant & Doug Naylor
Directed by Ed Bye

Notes

  • The first episode where there isn’t an alternate remastered version.  There was supposed to be a second batch of those (doing Series 4-6), but the reaction to the first set was mostly negative, so plans for further remastered episodes were scrapped.
  • One of the last lines in the previous episode Kryten clearly said he was lying, yet this one starts off with Kryten saying he can’t lie, and Lister has to teach him how to lie.

#RedDwarfMarathon Ep 19 - Camille - 14 Feb 1991 1/2 A strong ep to start S4. There's two core stories - one about Lister teaching Kryten to lie, and the other about a pleasure gelf they rescue who appears to each of the crew as their perfect mate. Cat of course sees himself. 🤣

#RedDwarfMarathon Ep 19 - Camille - 14 Feb 1991 2/2 The back half of the ep is Kryten attempting to have an actual relationship with the "blob" that is the gelf's default state. That part of it isn't as funny, but overall, this is a really great episode to start the new series.
