This one will probably be one of the shortest ones of these I have.  It’s simple – it’s a 2 LP Greatest Hits for Bruce Springsteen.  However, given how wide ranging his catalog is, it was inevitable people were going to grumble with the song selection.  After all, on the physical formats, there’s only 18 songs, and it covers his entire career from 1973-2020.   That’s a LOT of material, and there’s a lot that isn’t touched on.

I realized in the summer that I didn’t have much Springsteen on vinyl, and I noticed that this was newly out so I grabbed it. There were some odd color variants, but I went with straight black here.  In retrospect, I probably should have looked into another release perhaps – or maybe the albums.  But that’s not to say the music on here is bad – far from it.  There’s a ton of great stuff here.

The digital version of this has 31 songs vs the 18 on vinyl here, and even THAT verison leaves off way too much – you’d need a list of like 80 or 90 songs to touch on that, and we’re talking a dozen discs, might as well, just buy all the albums at that point.

Still, when I play it I enjoy the tunes on here.  The full playlist for the vinyl version is:

  1. Growin’ Up
  2. Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)
  3. Born to Run
  4. Thunder Road
  5. Badlands
  6. Hungry Heart
  7. Atlantic City
  8. Dancing In the Dark
  9. Born in the U.S.A.
  10. Brilliant Disguise
  11. Human Touch (Single Edit)
  12. Streets of Philadelphia (Single Edit)
  13. The Ghost of Tom Joad
  14. Secret Garden
  15. The Rising
  16. Girls In Their Summer Clothes
  17. Hello Sunshine
  18. Letter To You

My all time favorite Springsteen song is on here (Born to Run), so I was good.  As I said, I’m not gonna try and break down the Springsteen songs themselves, his catalog stands on its own.  But I did listen to this, so I wanted to write something.  :)

I couldn’t find any commercials for this release, and I’d ahve too many music videos if I included evyerthing released here, so I just opted to go with a couple of my own shot videos from the first ever Springsteen show I saw last year (Feb 2023) – took me that long to see him live given I’ve been listening since the early 80’s.
