- Wesley Crusher does not appear in this episode.
- The episode title is a translation of the Latin phrase “Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
- Dr. Pulaski is mentioned in this episode in passing in reference to a medical procedure she performed in the episode “Pen Pals“. This is the last time the character is ever referenced on screen – by name.
