Notes

  • Deanna Troi does not appear in this episode.
  • There was a filmed ending to this where Picard appears to interrupt the wedding, but it turns out it was just a dream – it was not used, but is on DVD/Blu-Ray sets.
  • Famke Janssen was offered the role of Jadzia Dax on Deep Space Nine, but declined, paving the way for Terry Farrell.
  • Additionally, Farrell’s Trill spots were more or less what was done in this episode for Janssen’s character.
  • Famke Janssen later worked again with Patrick Stewart in the X-Men movies.
  • Max Grodénchik plays his second Ferengi role (that is not Rom, the one he’s most famous for) in this episode – “Par Lenor”.  He previously played “Sovak” in “Captain’s Holiday“.
  • The concept of Cetacean Ops is first mentioned as a thing in this episode.
  • The BlueSky posts have the date wrong – they say 20 Apr, but it’s really 27 Apr.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 121 - The Perfect Mate - 20 Apr 1992 2/2 they're their usual annoying selves. She ends up bonding with Picard which complicates a pending wedding. Overall I thought Stewart and Jannsen were good, but overall the ep was just "there" - Troyius was better. :)
