Notes
- The titular Melora is played by Daphne Ashbrook. I know her best as Grace Holloway, the primary “companion” from the 1996 Doctor Who TV movie starring Paul McGann.
- The writer of this episode (Evan Somers) wanted to write this because he was put off by the plot of the TNG episode “Ethics” where Worf becomes crippled and wants to kill himself due to him perceiving himself as worthless. Somers is in a wheelchair all the time.
- Jake Sisko doesn’t appear again.
- Rule of Acquisition mentioned – #16: “A Deal is a deal”)
- The first appearance of the Klingon restaurant on the promenade.
- There were a ton of rewrites, hence all the names on the credits. There’s a lot of detail on those on the Memory Alpha page for this episode, linked below.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 26 - Melora - 1 Nov 1993 2/2 brings up a life decision for her. Not being handicapped myself I don't know how authentic this is to those who are. There's a B plot with Quark which is "meh". Melora is Daphne Ashbrook who I know from #DoctorWho.
