Trek Overall: Story 296, Episode 310
Airdate: 29 Nov 1993

Notes

  • This is the last episode in 1993, and the first break the show’s broadcast has taken in Season 2.  The next episode is in early January 1994; the show takes a Christmas/holiday break.
  • Tumak is played by Andrew Koenig, the real life son of original Star Trek cast member Walter Koenig.
  • Varani is played by William Schallert, who played Nilz Baris in the original series episode “The Trouble with Tribbles“.
  • Minister Rozhan is played by Kitty Swink, the real life wife of Quark actor Armin Shimerman.
  • In the pre-title sequence some music is being played live in Quark’s bar.  To my ears it sounds like they’re playing the theme from Deep Space Nine.  :)
  • There’s a great political line from this episode that applies to real life today..  “Men are too emotional to be good leaders – they’re constantly fighting amongst themselves”.
