• The first (of several) episodes with Jeffrey Combs’ Ferengi character Brunt.
• The first episode with Quark’s mother, played by Andrea Martin, who is well known from SCTV.  In subsequent episodes, the character is played by someone else.
• The first episode with Sisko’s eventual wife Cassidy Yates.
• Cassidy says her brother plays baseball on Cestus III. That’s the same planet that appeared in the TOS episode “Arena“.
• The toys that Quark’s mother still has of his are in real life real TNG action figures of Ferengi.
