Hippocratic Oath

This Story: Season 4 Episode 3 (production code 475)
DS9 Overall: Episode 76
Trek Overall: Story 337, Episode 357
Airdate: 16 Oct 1995
Story: Nicholas Corea & Lisa Klink

Notes

  • Goran’Agar was played by Scott MacDonald who appeared in the episode “Captive Pursuit” as Tosk.
  • The first episode where the drug the Jem’Hadar are addicted to is named – “Ketracel White”.
  • This episode contradicts later canon which establishes that the Jem’Hadar do not do these things: sleep, get laid, or eat. This one talks about them eating.
  • Starting here, Worf never says the name “Quark” in any episode, he says “The Ferengi bartender”.
  • The events of this episode are referenced in the episode “Inquisition” from Season 6.
  • The events of the episode “The Abandoned” are mentioned here.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 76 - Hippocratic Oath - 16 Oct 1995 1/2 O'Brien & Bashir crash their shuttle, & while they await rescue Bashir has to deal with a Jem'Hadar capturing them and trying to get him to cure his guys of their drug addiction. It's a good moral dilemma story

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 76 - Hippocratic Oath - 16 Oct 1995 2/2 for Bashir. The B plot shows Worf having trouble adjusting to life on DS9 vs the Enterprise (and conflicting with Odo). While there's no really awesome standout moments, both plots have some good character dev.
