Notes
- The episode title is a Bible reference – Ecclesiastes 9:11, which reads “the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all”.
- A very loose prequel to the later ep “The Siege of AR-558” in that it talks a lot about the horrors of war.
- The hospital is named “Decker Memorial Hospital” – Matt & Will Decker perhaps? This is not elaborated on.
- Possible foreshadowing of Bashir’s genetic enhancement is shown here when he is said to have carried an object that should be too heavy for him to do so.
- Doctor Kalandra is played by Karen Austin. She was also Miral on the Voyager episode “Barge of the Dead“. She was also the runner up when they cast Geneviève Bujold as Janeway on Voyager. She was also a series regular in the earliest episodes of the original Night Court TV series.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 102 - Nor The Battle To The Strong - 21 Oct 1996 2/2 have evolved which will be a thing later. B plot is how Odo is dealing with life as a solid, which is SHORT & not as interesting as the Jake plot. Don't always like medical eps, but I did like this.

BlueSky flagged one of the pictures in my embed as “graphic” – likely they think it’s a dead person (it isn’t). Here’s what they aren’t showing by default. The images below the first are ones that are my usual “extra” ones from this episode.
