Notes
- This had the longest production time for any Deep Space Nine episode – 9 (as opposed to 7, which was the norm).
- This episode aired the same day as the Voyager episode “Resistance” – both of which were directed by Winrich Kolbe.
- The real life romance of Alexander Siddig & Nana Visitor had started at this point. That’s relevant based on events in the episode.
- This episode aired ten days after the release of the official Bond film Goldeneye. Allegedly this was intentional to capitalize in the timing of the then new Bond film.
- There is a sequel to this episode later on called “A Simple Investigation“.
- This episode was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Hairstyling for a Series and Outstanding Music Composition for a Series.
