Notes
- The fourth and final appearance of the character Kurn. In all his appearances, he’s played by Tony Todd. As Todd died in 2024, this truly is the final appearance of the character.
- There was a novel which was a sequel to this story. It was called “A Burning House“, in which Rodek returns and has some memory of his life as Kurn. That novel is also a sequel to the TOS episode “A Matter of Honor“. Alternately, there’s another novel called “Vengeance” which has a different path for Rodek/Kurn.
- According to Ronald D. Moore there was a line in the script where Worf references he is no longer involved with Counselor Troi, but in the end it was dropped.
- This is the earliest mention/hint/whatever that there might be a relationship between Worf & Dax.
- There was supposed to be a followup to this episode in Season 6 which would have shown what happened to Rodek/Kurn, but it never happened.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 87 - Sons of Mogh - 12 Feb 1996 2/2 shows up asking Worf to kill him. That almost happens, but Worf is prevented from doing so. In the end, it's decided to wipe Kurn's memory & give him a new life. A sad end for a character I wish was given more to do.
