“I think the phrase rhymes with clucking bell.”
Notes
- The final episode of the fourth series and the series overall, although there would be one major special after this. Plus a few short additional Youtube things. They’re detailed on the Black Adder Marathon page.
- In the original ending to the series, Black Adder fakes his death in no man’s land and ends up going back to the bunker surviving the series. That was edited out for the transmitted version.
- Geoffrey Palmer features as Field Marshal Haig.
- Mrs. Miggins from Series III is name dropped here, but not seen.

In fact, most people who know the series tend to focus on the ending, vs anything else that is in the actual episode. Geoffrey Palmer cameos.

Black Adder Ep 24 - "Goodbyeee" - 2 Nov 1989 2/2 #Wubble This one seems to have more sitting around talking than most - a lot about "why are we fighting this war?" But the way this ends just dominates the entire episode for me - the lack of theme song, everyone dying and the field of poppies.. 🫡

Black Adder Ep 24 - "Goodbyeee" - 2 Nov 1989 3/2 ADMIN NOTE: While the series ends here, there's 8 specials scattered through the run (and after) which I'll be covering as well. First up will be the original untransmitted pilot. They run through the most recent, a Red Nose Day special from 2023.
