Star One

This Story: Season 2 Episode 13 (production code 213)
B7 Overall: Episode 26
Airdate: 3 Apr 1979 (7:20PM UK time)
Duration: 48:22
Filming Dates: 5-7 Feb, 6-8 Mar 1979
Written by Chris Boucher
Directed by David Maloney (uncredited).

Notes

  • This was supposed to be a two parter (in combination with the prior episode), but Terry Nation was unable to deliver scripts at the time.
  • The last episode for Gareth Thomas as Roj Blake as a series regular. He would make a cameo in Season 3’s “Terminal” as well as the series finale (“Blake“), however.
  • The last episode for Sally Kynvette as Jenna Stannis – she is not seen again after this.
  • The last episode for both Brian Croucher and Travis, as Travis is killed in this episode.
  • The invading force was supposed to be the Daleks (according to Terry Nation), but the show producers were not in favor of this idea.
  • Gareth Armstrong plays Parton.  He appeared in Doctor Who’s “The Masque of Mandragora” (along with Zen/Orac’s Peter Tuddenham).

#B7Marathon #Blakes7 Blake's 7 Ep 26 - "Star One" - 3 Apr 1979 1/3 The S2 finale brings to a head Blake's attempts to attack the Federation. He finally does - reading the elusive Star One. But it's not as simple as "attack them". There's an invading fleet to deal with, too. Overall the drama works

#B7Marathon #Blakes7 Blake's 7 Ep 26 - "Star One" - 3 Apr 1979 2/3 well, it's a good finale. It's the end for several characters - Blake, Jenna, & Travis. All gone after this ep (not all dead). This one was SFX heavy, which fell down a LOT in the OG version, but the new SFX are very impressive.

#B7Marathon #Blakes7 Blake's 7 Ep 26 - "Star One" - 3 Apr 1979 3/3 That's the end of Series 2 of Blake's 7. I'll do Series 3 next December when that series comes out on Blu-Ray. VERY curious to see what they do sfx wise with 03x01. Anyway, next up is Star Trek Voyager on Jan 1st. #StarTrekMarathon
