Notes
- Running fired torpedo count: 1
- This episode was originally intended to open Season 2, but got bumped when “The 37’s” was moved from Season 1 to Season 2’s premiere.
- The late Aaron Einsenberg plays “Kar” here. He’s more well known for his recurring character of Nog on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
- Another episode in the lengthy list of Star Trek episodes which filmed at Vazquez Rocks.
- The first time we see Tom Paris in command of Voyager.
- Voyager crew have new models of tricorders and phasers here – although HOW they got them is not explained.
- The first (of eleven) shuttles from Voyager that are said to be destroyed over the run of the series. I don’t believe it’s stated what the total complement is.
- Patrick Kilpatrick plays the Kazon Rasik here. He was also Assan in Voyager’s “Drive” as well as Reese in the most excellent DS9 episode “The Siege of AR-558“.
- Tim de Zarn plays the Kazon Haliz here. He was also Satler on TNG’s “Starship Mine“, Halb Daier on DS9’s “Wrongs Darker than Death or Night“, and Yediq in Voyager’s “Repentance“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 18 - Initiations - 4 Sep 1995 2/2 young Kazon is played by Aaron Eisenberg - DS9's Nog. Nice to see him here. The rest of the Voyager crew has minimal screen timer here. The bulk of it is on Eisenberg's character and Kazon culture. Deepest dive on that yet.
