Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 1
  • Working title for this episode was “First World”.
  • The idea that the Doctor would be sick to gain a better appreciation of sick patients was put forward by Robert Picardo himself.
  • There is a shot of Chakotay naked – it was a body double.
  • The first episode of Voyager to be directed by Alexander Singer. He would direct 10 in all.
  • This episode re-uses footage from “The 37’s” of the Voyager descending towards a planet.
  • There is a “Captain Sulu” mentioned in this episode, but it’s unclear if it’s Hikaru Sulu (from TOS) or not.
  • Henry Darrow plays Kolopak (Chakotay’s father) in this episode and “Basics, Part I“.  He also played the Vulcan Savar in the TNG episode “Conspiracy“.
  • Richard Fancy plays the Sky Spirit alien in this episode.  He was also the Vulcan Satelk in the TNG episode “The First Duty“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 25 - Tattoo - 6 Nov 1995 2/2 didn't draw me in like an A story should - was just OK. I did enjoy the B story more where the Doctor programs himself to get sick so he can relate better to patients. More than once I kept wishing the story would get back to that.
