Notes
- Running fired torpedo count: 14 (3 this episode) / Confirmed crew deaths since pilot: 11 (crew of 143).
- The first episode of Season 3.
- One of four episodes produced during the second season and held over to the third. The others are “Sacred Ground“, “False Profits“, & “Flashback“.
- The last appearance for Magh Culluh – as the character does not appear anymore. However a picture of him is seen in the episode “Relativity“. This is also the last episode with the Kazon (formally), as the series doesn’t use them any more after this. They do appear a few more times later on, but in flashback or alternate reality scenarios.
- The last episode for Seska, who is killed. She would return twice more however, via timey-wimey methods.
- In addition, Suder, Hogan, and an unnamed crew member die in this episode.
- The last episode of Star Trek that would be written by Michael Piller. He would be credited as a consultant for the reminder of Voyager’s time, but his active participation stopped here. He had one final work for Star Trek, that of the movie Star Trek: Insurrection.
- Location filming was dine in Alabama Hills (Lone Pine, CA).

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 43 - Basics, Pt II - 4 Sep 1996 2/2 his quarters permanently - it had a Die Hard feel. This marks the end of Seska & Suder (dead) and the Kazon (buh-bye from series). The planet stuff was better than I remembered. Will not miss the Kazon, always felt "meh".
