VOY Overall: Episode 47
Trek Overall: Story 477, Episode 503
Airdate: 2 Oct 1996
Story by George A. Brozak

Notes
- Running fired torpedo count: 14 (3 this episode) / Confirmed crew deaths since pilot: 11 (crew of 143).
- One of the four episodes filmed for Season 2 and held over for Season 3.
- Working titles for this were “The Visitors” & “Penitence”.
- This story is a direct sequel to the TNG episode “The Price“.
- Dan Shor played Arridor in both this episode and “The Price“.
- Kol is the other Ferengi from The Price, but he was recast here. Leslie Jordan plays him here – I know Jordan from any number of things, but I enjoyed him on the “Call Me Kat” TV series (2021 – 2023).
- Michael Ensign plays “The Bard” here. He was also Krola in TNG’s “First Contact“, a Vulcan named Lojal in DS9’s “The Forsaken“, and a different Vulcan named Oratt in Enterprise’s “Stigma“.
- The second of three Ferengi that Neelix actor Ethan Phillips would play (“The Grand Proxy”). He also played Farek in TNG’s “Menage a Troi” as well as Ulis in Enterprise’s “Acquisition“.
- Rob LaBelle plays Kafar here. He played two different Talaxian characters in Voyager episodes – “Faces” and “Homestead“.
- Two Rules of Acquisition are mentioned, although the second wasn’t real (as there’s only 285 of them):
#95 – “Expand or Die”
#299 – “Whenever you exploit someone, it never hurts to thank them. That way, it’s easier to exploit them the next time”

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 47 - False Profits - 2 Oct 1996 2/2 for profit. Voyager tries to fix that, although it's not as easy as just beaming them out of there. There's a bunch of typical Ferengi comedy here - and another Rule of Acquisition! Enjoyable, assuming you like Ferengi eps.
