Warlord

This Story: Season 3 Episode 10 (production code 152)
VOY Overall: Episode 52
Trek Overall: Story 481, Episode 508
Airdate: 20 Nov 1996
Story by: Andrew Shepard Price & Mark Gaberman
Teleplay by Lisa Klink
Directed by David Livingston

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 18 / Confirmed crew deaths since pilot: 12 (1 this episode, crew of 142).
  • A working title for the story was “The Art of War”. I think I’d prefer that one to Warlord.
  • Galyn Gorg plays Nori here.  She was also Korean in DS9’s “The Visitor“.
  • Brad Greenquest plays Demmas here.  He was also Krit in DS9’s “Who Mourns for Morn?“, Zshaar in Enterprise’s “Dawn“, and a Rigelian kidnapper in Enterprise’s “Affliction“.
  • Karl Wiedergott plays Ameron here.  He was also Larr in Enterprise’s “Dear Doctor“.
  • Leigh McCloskey plays Tieran here.  He was also Joran Dax in DS9’s “Field of Fire“.  Additionally, I know McCloskey VERY well as Mitch Cooper on the TV series “Dallas“.
  • The damaged ship also appeared in TNG’s “Unification I” was a similar craft.
  • The Ilari guards have weapons that were used by the Jem Hadar on DS9.
  • The first Star Trek episode to show an entire shuttlecraft being beamed from inside the ship into space.
  • The Neelix & Kes relationship ends here.  Kes does it while she’s possessed, but it never returns once she goes back to normal.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 52 - Warlord - 20 Nov 1996 1/2 Another overused Trek trope. Someone gets taken over by an alien entity and makes them act like they normally wouldn't. This time it's Kes who believes she's some sort of well.. Warlord. The story of this is just OK, but the best

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 52 - Warlord - 20 Nov 1996 2/2 part is that Jennifer Lien can act if they give her something to do, which they rarely do. She does a great job here, I would have loved more of THIS from Lien. One thing that comes out of this is that the Kes/Neelix paring ends.

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
