Scorpion Part II

This Story: Season 4 Episode 1 (production code 169)
VOY Overall: Episode 69
Trek Overall: Story 497b, Episode 525
Airdate: 3 Sep 1997
Written by Brannon Braga & Joe Menosky
Directed by Winrich Kolbe

Notes

  • The first episode of Season 4.
  • Running fired torpedo count: 23 (4 fired this episode) / Confirmed crew deaths since pilot: 13 (crew of 142 – addition of Seven).
  • Additionally, it’s said in this episode the ship has 32 torpedoes before firing any which contracts events of the episodes of the prior three seasons.
  • The first episode for Jeri Ryan as “Seven of Nine – Tertiary Adjunct to Unimatrix Zero One”.
  • Jennifer Lien is not listed as a cast member in the opening titles for the first time.
  • One of only three episodes of the entire run of Voyager that had the full cast from all seven years of the series in it at once.  The other two are “The Gift” and “Fury“.
  • A direct correlation is made here between Picard’s Locutus and Seven of Nine as a representative for the collective.
  • Seven states she has been a Borg drone for eighteen years, which would make her 24 years old total.  Jeri Ryan was 29 when this was filmed.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 69 - Scorpion Part II - 3 Sep 1997 1/2 Enter Seven of Nine! Part II involves the Borg sending a representative to speak for them (similar to Locutus) - that's Seven. I still think the concept of an alliance was weird for the Borg. Ignoring that I loved the way

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 69 - Scorpion Part II - 3 Sep 1997 2/2 Seven was portrayed here - as constantly annoyed at Janeway & the humans. This didn't have as much WTF and drama as Part I did, but it still worked. A Borg cube sacrificing itself to save Voyager was unexpected. Good SFX.

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
