Vis à Vis

This Story: Season 4 Episode 20 (production code 188)
VOY Overall: Episode 88
Trek Overall: Story 513, Episode 543
Airdate: 8 Apr 1998
Written by Robert J. Doherty
Directed by Jesús Salvador Treviño

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 23 / Confirmed crew deaths since pilot: 15 (one this episode – crew of 146 (my count says 138)).
  • This episodes title is French.  The literal translation to English is “face to face”.
  • This episode had a working title of “Perspectives”.
  • This episode continues the storyline that Tom Paris is into vintage Earth vehicles (basically from our real time).
  • The ship at the start is said to have a “Coaxial Warp Drive”.  The way it’s described almost makes it sound like what the USS Discovery does with its spore drive.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 88 - Vis à Vis - 8 Apr 1998 1/3 This kind of could be described as "Tom Paris is bored". We spend a lot of time on him being derelict in his duties. Not wrong, but "heart isn't in it". He waffles a bit until turns a corner at the end. This plot didn't interest

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 88 - Vis à Vis - 8 Apr 1998 2/3 me a ton. The other plot is about this alien which kinda feels like the movie "Face/Off" with Nick Cage a bit. It's OK, but both of these plots felt like things that would been a fair B plot on their own, not dual "A plots".

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 88 - Vis à Vis - 8 Apr 1998 3/3 Admin note. Overlooked this yesterday. I'm now over halfway done with Voyager. Today is Ep 88. There's 172 of them overall. I should finish Voyager around 21-22 Jun. After that, it's Enterprise which should end in early Oct.

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
