Timeless

“Obviously the Borg can’t hold their liquor”.

This Story: Season 5 Episode 6 (production code 200)
VOY Overall: Episode 100
Trek Overall: Story 525, Episode 555
Airdate: 18 Nov 1998
Story by Rick Berman, Brannon Braga, & Joe Menosky
Teleplay by Brannon Braga & Joe Menosky
Directed by LeVar Burton

Notes

  • The 100th episode of Voyager.
  • Running fired torpedo count: 40 / Confirmed crew deaths since pilot: 19 (crew of 140 (my count says 134) – but is 127?).
  • This is the fourth of eight episodesof Voyager directed by LeVar Burton.  This one however also includes him being on screen briefly as Geordi LaForge.
  • One could claim that the entire crew of Voyager died in this episode other than Chakotay & Harry Kim, but that was all undone by the end of the episode’s magic reset button.
  • The events of this episode are referred to in the episode “Relativity” by 29th Century Starfleet officers as “the temporal inversion in the Takara sector”.
  • Geordi’s uniform is a mix of styles.  It includes the uniforms from the last three TNG movies (and later DS9), but a com badge that was in the TNG finale and DS9’s “The Visitor“.
  • This episode shows a Talaxian Furfly.  This creature is referenced in multiple episodes of Starfleet Academy by the “Digital Dean of Students” (Stephen Colbert’s character) in various voiceovers.
  • Allegedly the shuttle Challenger was named after the real life space shuttle Challenger.
  • The first time we see a Galaxy class starship in Voyager.
  • According to on screen dialogue, the events of this episode take place four years, two months, and eleven days from the events of “Caretaker“.
  • Additionally, the events of this episode take 10 years off the overall travel time home.
  • The plot of this episode mirrors on some ways the plot of the Voyager finale, “Endgame“.
  • The never seen and rarely mentioned “Beta Quadrant” gets a shoutout here.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 100 - Timeless - 18 Nov 1998 1/3 Ep 100 is a total banger - probably my single fav Voyager ep. 15 yrs in the future, Harry Kim & Chakotay made it home - but only them. An error by Harry caused the death of the entire crew of Voyager - and the ship, too. The ep

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 100 - Timeless - 18 Nov 1998 2/3 is Harry trying to undo time & revive his dead crewmates. Harry is the big star here - Garrett Wang did a great job with it. Fun cameo by LeVar Burton as Geordi (who also directed). Total winner from front to end - no bad bits.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 100 - Timeless - 18 Nov 1998 3/3 I wish this could have been two parts - there was certainly enough meat on the bone for it. Crash landing of Voyager looked excellent, and a "determined" Harry was a nice change of pace for that character. Tempted to watch 2x.

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
