This Story: Season 6 Episode 16 (production code 235)
VOY Overall: Episode 136
Trek Overall: Story 560, Episode 592
Airdate: 16 Feb 2000
Story by Andrew Shepard Price & Mark Gaberman
Teleplay by Michael Taylor
Directed by Allison Liddi

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 61.  This contradicts the hard limit set in “The Cloud” of 38.
  • There are five speaking “Borg children” in this episode.  Four of them appeared once more (in “Ashes to Ashes“).  The fifth (Icheb) went on to appear a total of 11 times between now and the end of the series.  Some of the others also appeared other times as well.
  • A sixth (a baby) was said in interviews to be “returned to their people”, but this was not depicted on screen.
  • The only episode of any incarnation of Star Trek directed by Allison Liddi.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 136 - Collective - 16 Feb 2000 2/2 puts Seven in the role of Mother to some extent. Children in Trek doesn't always work, but this does. One of them (Icheb) comes a semi regular, the others make occasional other appearances. A Borg ep is always a good time.
