Dragon’s Teeth

This Story: Season 6 Episode 7 (production code 225)
VOY Overall: Episode 127
Trek Overall: Story 551, Episode 583
Airdate: 10 Nov 1999
Story by Michael Taylor
Teleplay by Michael Taylor, Brannon Braga, & Joe Menosky
Directed by Winrich Kolbe

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 61 (one this episode).  This contradicts the hard limit set in “The Cloud” of 38.
  • This was originally planned as a two parter, but changed to one.
  • Footage from this episode was re-used in the opening credits for the Star Trek Enterprise episodes “In a Mirror Darkly” as part of the Mirror Universe version of the titles.  Specifically the actual first shot of this episode was the footage reused.
  • While this episode implies that the Vaadwaur would be seen again, they were not, although one of their spaceships was seen again once.
  • The fourth (and I think) final time we see Voyager landing on a planet.
  • This episode’s plot has large parts that are similar to the TOS episode “Space Seed“.
  • Gedrin is played by Jeff Allin.  He was also Sutter in TNG’s “Imaginary Friend”.
  • Gaul is played by Robert Knepper.  He was also Wyatt Miller in TNG’s “Haven” (Deanna Troi’s fiancé).

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 127 - Dragon's Teeth - 10 Nov 1999 1/2 Voyager has a battle which forces them to land on a planet to make repairs. While there, the episode turns into "Space Seed". The crew finds a group of people who are in cryogenic sleep. They're revived, are nice at first

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 127 - Dragon's Teeth - 10 Nov 1999 2/2 then they eventually try to attack Voyager. Interesting there's a ship battle in the atmosphere of a planet - something different. I did like the battle in the last 10 mins, was good. Space Seed angle aside, I liked this.

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
