Spirit Folk

“I’ve got a boyfriend who malfunctions.“

This Story: Season 6 Episode 17 (production code 237)
VOY Overall: Episode 137
Trek Overall: Story 561, Episode 593
Airdate: 23 Feb 2000
Written by Bryan Fuller
Directed by David Livingston

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 61.  This contradicts the hard limit set in “The Cloud” of 38.
  • A direct sequel to the episode “Fair Haven“.
  • A working title for this episode was “Daoine Sidhe”.  That is Irish, which translated means “The People of the Mounds”.  Why?  No idea.
  • The only time Voyager’s registry is read out loud in an episode (NCC-74656).
  • Several of the Fair Haven actors reprised their (holodeck) roles from that episode.
  • Milo was played by Ian Abercrombie.  He was also the Abbott in Voyager’s “Someone to Watch over Me“.
  • The woman who played Edith Mulchaey (Bairbre Dowling) used to be married to Colm Meaney (DS9 & TNG’s O’Brien).
  • This episode was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 137 - Spirit Folk - 23 Feb 2000 2/2 self aware. Something we've seen before (hello Moriarty). I wasn't a huge fan of the first, this is more of the same, just a different flavor - it's funnier than the first. There was no third, tho, they "ended" the program.
