Notes

• Running fired torpedo count: 61.  This contradicts the hard limit set in “The Cloud” of 38.
• An earlier version of the script had Tuvok fighting in the ring, and not Seven.
• This episode was originally titled Arena, but had to be changed so not to conflict with the TOS episode of the same name.
• The Pendori champion is played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.  At the time he was still just a wrestler – this was one of his first credited roles outside of wrestling programs.
• Two popular DS9 actors appear here – Jeffrey Combs & JG Hertzler.  Combs played both Weyoun & Brunt on DS9.  Hertzler played a few roles, but is mostly known for being Martok.  This is the only Voyager episode for both actors.
• The real life events of Johnson being cast in this episode were played out in an episode of the 2023 sitcom called “Young Rock” (in a fictional variant).
• The only time we see Torres in command of Voyager and sitting in the Captain’s chair.
• Torres also has a stuffed doll called “Toby the Targ”.
