Notes

  • Running Decon Gel Scene Appearances: Trip (1), T’Pol (1) – none this episode.
  • This episode was under active production when the real life 9/11 attacks happened.  It stopped production for a short time. The director has said he cannot watch the episode as the expressions in the actors faces was noticeably more sad in scenes shot after that event happened.
  • The writer of the episode (Mike Sussman) included the Malurian race as the bad guys as he through it would be funny as they were the race that got wiped out by Nomad in the TOS episode “The Changeling“.
  • The Akaali race shown here reappears in Star Trek Discovery’s “The Examples“.
  • A hint at what becomes Starfleet’s “Prime Directive” is talked about here.
  • Some footage of the Enterprise at the Akaali homeward is later used again in the episode “Terra Prime“.
  • Garos was played by Wade Andrew Williams.  He was also Lo-Tarik in the Voyager episode “One“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Enterprise Episode 9 - Civilization - 14 Nov 2001 2/2 on the planet. Archer & crew disguise themselves while investigating this with a local female scientist who gets a Kirk-like snog from Archer. They touch briefly on the usual "Prime Directive" stuff we get in Trek.

The local head ridges make them look like baseballs, IMO.
