- Running Decon Gel Scene Appearances: T’Pol (2), Trip (2), Hoshi (1), Malcolm (1). No scene this episode.
- The first time Enterprise is shown to reach Warp 5.
- The first time we hear the traditional Vulcan phrase “Live long and prosper” in the series.
- It is stated that T’Pol is 64 (human) years old in this episode.
- In “Fight or Flight” it is stated that Hoshi wanted to mover her quarters to the other side of the ship. It appears that has happened – nice attention to detail.
- The Mazarite Captain is played by John Rubinstein. He was also John Evansville in Voyager’s “The 37’s“, and he is also the Vulcan Kuvak in the episodes “Awakening” and “Kir’Shara“.
- Vaughn Armstrong makes his fifth (of fourteen) appearances as Admiral Forest in the series.
- The Vulcan V’Lar was played by Fionnula Flanagan. She was also Juliana Tainer in TNG’s “Inheritance” and Enina Tandro in DS9’s “Dax“.
- We get the first mention of Risa on the series.
