Notes
- The exocomps are introduced here. They would return in Star Trek: Lower Decks where they are capable of sentience, and one of them goes bad/rogue (named Peanut Hamper).
- The events of the episode “The Measure of a Man” are referenced here.
- The bet at a poker game at the start of the episode was never / has never been paid off.
- The bet was about beards – LaForge’s had a beard because in real life LeVar Burton wanted a beard for his then upcoming wedding.

A robot (an exocomp) is used to fix tech problems, & in the course of the episode Data becomes fascinated with them after they seem to have rebelled and refuse to do tasks for others.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 134 - Quality of Life - 16 Nov 1992 2/2 He's convinced they're alive & defends their existence with insubordination - a surprise for him. Not a bad ep. Not top tier either, but I did like ending. The exocomps are brought back in Lower Decks (hello Peanut Hamper!).
