Notes
- An amusing quip – this episode sounds like the title of an episode from Babylon 5.
- A working title of this episode was “Persistence of Vision”. It has no connection to the Star Trek Voyager episode with the same name.
- The colony set was used previously in a TNG episode “Thine Own Self” (modified, of course).
- The third and final reference to the Dominion before they finally show up in the season finale, “The Jem’Hadar“.
- Kira is said to have two brothers. While not named here they were in a future episode (“Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night“). They are Kira Pohl & Kira Reon.
- Taya is played by Noley Thornton, who also appeared in the TNG episode “Imaginary Friend” as Clara Sutter.

Overall, the three stories are well constructed. Odo & Dax try to save a village. Jake tries to get a job working for O'Brien. Kira & Quark try to outmaneuver each

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 36 - Shadowplay - 21 Feb 1994 2/2 other with Odo gone. Kira gets a snog here - haha. The Odo story gets the most screen time. Very enjoyable story - not super high stakes, but they don't all have to be to work well. Even the little girl worked for me.
