Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 1
  • Season 2 premiere, but it was originally produced to be the final episode (of 20) from Season 1. Three others got bumped into Season 2 as well.
  • The first of four Voyager episodes directed by James L. Conway. Conway also directed 3 episodes of TNG, 7 of DS9, and 4 of Enterprise.
  • The outdoor scenes were filmed at Bronson Caves in Bronson Canyon – they also filmed ‘State of Flux” there.  It’s a familiar location in Trek, as Deep Space Nine, Enterprise, Next Gen,  and the original series all filmed here.  Additionally, The A Team, Batman, Bonanza, The Dukes of Hazzard, the 60’s Mission Impossible series, and the Monkees all filmed here.  Plus a whole lot more.
  • The first time in Star Trek history where a ship lands on a planet, and then takes off into space again.
  • The crew’s compliment is said to be 152 people.
  • The first time that Torres is shown to be in command of Voyager.
  • John Rubenstein plays John Evansville here.  He was also Mazarite captain in the Enterprise episode “Fallen Hero“. He was also the Vulcan Kuvak in the Enterprise episodes “Awakening” & “Kir’Shara“.
  • David Graf plays Fred Noonan here.  He was also the Klingon Leskit in the DS9 episode “Soldiers of the Empire”.  Additionally, Graf’s widow (Kathryn Graf) was in the DS9 episode “A Man Alone“.
  • Amelia Earhart was played by Sharon Lawrence.  Sharon is known for a whole lot of things including NYPD Blue, Boston Legal, & Desperate Housewives.  You can see all her credits here.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 17 - The 37's - 28 Aug 1995 2/2 exploration part for the first half I quite liked. I did think the Earhart part was a bit goofy, but overall enjoyed the ep more than I remembered. Reminds me a bit of TNG's "The Neutral Zone" with people from the past here now.
