This Story: Season 5 Episode 23 (production code 217)
VOY Overall: Episode 117
Trek Overall: Story 542, Episode 573
Airdate: 5 May 1999
Story by Brannon Braga & Joe Menosky
Teleplay by Joe Menosky
Directed by David Livingston

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 53.  This contradicts the hard limit set in “The Cloud” of 38.
  • Earlier versions of this script dallied with having either Q or Guinan turn up in the past events segments.  Eventually that idea was scrapped.
  • There is no star date for this episode, but they did say it was “April 22nd”.
  • Events of this episode are recalled in “The Voyager Conspiracy“.
  • At the time this episode originally aired, the “past” events were about a year and a half in the (real world) future.
  • One of only two episode titles in all of Star Trek made out of just numbers (unless you want to count the colon in the title).  The other one is TNG’s “11001001“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 117 - 11:59 - 5 May 1999 1/2 A different kind of ep. It's basically Janeway remembering one of her ancestors. There's no sci-fi aspect to this, it's basically just a telling of the story of Janeway's family history. As someone who is big into my own genealogy,

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 117 - 11:59 - 5 May 1999 2/2 I liked that part of the story. But as a piece of Star Trek this doesn't work for me. Liked Mulgrew's performance - this is obviously a vehicle for her. But as an episode of Star Trek Voyager it felt a bit on the flat side. Shrug.

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
