Friendship One

This Story: Season 7 Episode 21 (production code 267)
VOY Overall: Episode 167
Trek Overall: Story 588, Episode 623
Airdate: 25 Apr 2001
Written by Michael Taylor & Bryan Fuller
Directed by Mike Vejar

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 79 (two this episode, possibly more but two confirmed). This contradicts the hard limit set in “The Cloud” of 38.
  • The events of the episode “Distant Origin” are referenced here.
  • The character of Joe Carey returns and is killed.  He was last seen in “real time” in “State of Flux“, but most recently in real world time in “Fury” (but that was set in the past).
  • Otrin was played by John Prosky.  He was also Brothaw in the DS9 episode “For the Cause“.
  • Brin was played by Bari Hochwald.  She was also Elizabeth Lense in DS9’s “Explorers“. She will also be E’Lis in Enterprise’s “Marauders“.
  • Admiral Hendricks was played by Peter Dennis.  He was also Isaac Newton in the episode “Death Wish“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Episode 167 - Friendship One - 25 Apr 2001 1/2 The Voyager gets an actual mission from Starfleet. They're sent to recover an old Earth probe from a few hundreds years in the past - called "Friendship One". The mission is of course not what we are led to think it

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Episode 167 - Friendship One - 25 Apr 2001 2/2 was. Said probe was part of a nuclear winter on a planet they visit and the survivors want revenge on humans. We lose a secondary character. Another one I enjoyed and hadn't seen since 2001. Good bittersweet ending.

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
