Notes
- The last episode of the first part of Season 1. These nine episodes were referred to as “Chapter 1”.
- Apparently, the 133 jumps is a reference to the Battlestar Galactica (2004) episode titled “33”.
- The first male/male kiss in Star Trek history happens here.
- The first outright sex scene (male/female) in Trek history and also the first one to show bare female breasts (albeit not real ones, it was prosthetic).
- There is a cadet Decker in this episode. While it’s not explicitly stated on screen, the timing of the episode relative to the original series implies this could be the same Will Decker from Star Trek: The Motion Picture (source is an article on StarTrek.com).
- The first of four episodes with Michael Ayres as an unnamed Discovery transporter technician.

There's a lot going on in this ep, it's hard to break it all down here. But several plot points from previous eps are revisited. Lorca disobeys

Starfleet to gain the Klingon cloaking secret. There's a lot that happens with this, but the intense stuff is with Ash & L'Rell where we get well, the first true sex scene in Star Trek (via PTS flashback). When going home, the ship ends up in an unknown location. This ep is strongly tied to others.

Watching it this time, it's an odd feel, as I know where the story goes after this, and to that it feels incomplete, as it's reliant on other stuff. I can't recall what I felt on original viewing now, however. It's not bad at all, just can't seem to get a handle on what I feel about it exactly.
