Don’t go up there – its’ dark!
Saw a remark over on a friend’s blog about it being dark out when he leaves work. That’s one of my favorite times of the year! I’ve always loved it when it gets dark around 5:30PM or so (we’re not there yet, but we will be soon).
For me, a person who is usually up till about 2 or 3 AM each night anyway, the fact that it’s dark before 6PM makes the nights seem longer, and I can get more done. Or at least it feels that way. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I think that at least the perception in my mind of more stuff getting done at least gives me the illusion of it happening.
OK, I’m rambling – but my point is I love it when it’s dark before I leave work. Of course, I have no windows in my office, so it doesn’t really matter what it is during the day. :)
In case you’re wondering why this entry is entitled what it is, it’s a line from a classic Bugs Bunny Cartoon “Hare Raising Hare” in which Bugs goes up a stairwell, runs back down, runs into Gossamer (the big orange monster), and says “Don’t go up there – it’s dark!”. That line has always been funny for me, so when I started thinking about it being dark out, I couldn’t get that line out of my head!
