A Good Man Goes to War
A Good Man Goes to War
This Story: Series 6, Story 5. Production Code 6.7
Overall: Story 219, Episode 783
Airdate: 4 Jun 2011
Written by Steven Moffat
Directed by Peter Hoar
Notes
- This is episode 7 of the series, and according to the official count of episodes, number 777. The joke was apparently not intentional (my count is 783 as I count Shada, and they do not).
- The first 11th Doctor story not to feature a Tardis scene.
- The next episode (Let’s Kill Hitler) didn’t air until 27 Aug 2011 due to BBC coverage of the Summer Olympics.
- There was a prequel to this episode mostly to do with Dorian Maldovar and his deal with the Headless Monks. Events in the prequel are referenced in the episode itself.
- One of the clerics was named Lorna Bucket, and played by Christina Chong. She’s more well known for playing La’an Noonien-Singh in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Lots happening here. Mid season finale, big sexy reveal at the end (River is the daughter of Amy & Rory). First appearance of Vastra & Jenny. Quite a few secondary characters pic.twitter.com/Hm63OFm9j4

appear. @christinachongx from Star Trek: SNW is here. The Doctor's bassinet is amusing. Fun, fast episode that's a tad busy and somewhat talky at the end for a "war" story. pic.twitter.com/clg4TwFW25
