Notes

  • Professor Hobbes is played by David Troughton, the real life son of Second Doctor Patrick Troughton.  He was in Doctor Who twice before.  First as a minor role in the 1969 serial, “The War Games“.  A few years later he had a starring role in the 1972 serial, “The Curse of Peladon“.  David Troughton has gone on to portray the Second Doctor in several Big Finish audios.
  • Russell T Davies has said that his inspiration for this episode was the Star Trek TNG episode “Darmok“.
