Notes

  • This was the first episode produced as part of the series proper run – the first after the two pilots.
  • Was the first (filmed) appearances for the characters of Dr McCoy, Lt Uhura, & Yeoman Rand.
  • Balok was played by Clint Howard, the brother of Ron Howard.  Clint has been in MANY Star Trek incarnations over the years, but this was the first one (at age 7).
  • The others are Deep Space Nine (Past Tense Part II), Enterprise (Acquisition), Discovery (Will You Take My Hand), Strange New Worlds (Under the Cloak of War).
  • In 2006, Clint Howard appeared in a Comedy Central Roast as an adult version of Balok.  Picture below.
