Notes

  • I believe this is the first episode where we see a shuttlecraft fire a phaser.
  • The first episode where the founding of the Federation is dated – 2161.
  • The first episode where Geordi wears a beard.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 117 - The Outcast - 16 Mar 1992 1/2 Trek finally does "the gay story" (at least it was called that at the time). Fans had been after them to have a gay character, & the show always seemed unwilling to touch on that. While non binary/same sex stuff was tackled much

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 117 - The Outcast - 16 Mar 1992 2/2 stronger in later incarnations, this was the first attempt at broaching that subject. Riker falls in love with someone from a species who is prosecuted for gender identity. Good story, but it took shit at the time (pro & con).
