- This is the first of four two part stories (in 25 min format) in classic Doctor Who. The others are The Sontaran Experiment (1975), Black Orchid (1982), and The Awakening (1984).
- This story marks the first story for Maureen O’Brien as Vicki – the new permanent companion. The DVD is sold in a set with the following story, “The Romans”.

Koquillion is found out to be Bennett, who killed the members of his crashed ship. He used Vicki to hide this. He was killed by natives of planet. Vicki goes with the Tardis crew. pic.twitter.com/6glYP9DVl5
