Notes

• There’s a quick reference to the Jon Pertwee story “Carnival of Monsters” when 12 mentions they might be in a miniscope.
• This story was edited before broadcast. In the climax of the story one of the robots was beheaded in the story.  In real life right before this episode aired, ISIS released several videos of them beheading people, and it was felt this was in bad taste. This was covered in several news stories at the time ( 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 ).
• This episode (along with a few others) leaked online before airing, and this scene was available to view.  I personally didn’t have a problem with it, but can appreciate where they’re coming from. It wasn’t anything super important to the plot anyway.  There is a description of what was edited out here.
