The Tholian Web
This Story: Season 3 Episode 9 (production code 3.9)
TOS Overall: Story 64, Episode 65
Trek Overall: Story 64, Episode 65
Airdate: 15 Nov 1968

Notes
- The Star Trek: Enterprise two parter “In a Mirror Darkly” was a direct sequel to both this episode as well as “Mirror Mirror“.
- One of the helmets from the spacesuits in this episode was worn by actor Conrad Janis in a Mork & Mindy episode titled “Mork Goes Public”. There’s a photo of this below.
- The only episode where Spock calls McCoy “Bones”.
- The episode features a blooper when stock footage of Chekov in front of the viewscreen is used moments after his character is escorted to sickbay.
- The original special effects of this show did not show the hull of the USS Defiant with its call sign of “NCC-1764”. Presumably this was done to save money and not having to use the same trick Doomsday Machine did which was to rearrange the numbers NCC-1701 to what they did there (NCC-1017). The remastered version did show the NCC-1764.

One of my favs. Of course it's a show with a second Constitution class ship, but the story behind it is great. What would the crew (and particular McCoy & Spock) do if Kirk was declared dead? has some pretty pic.twitter.com/5dxt3uEVaA

good rage by McCoy against Spock. Always wished we saw more Tholians - never did. Even Uhura got something to do here. Spock's near lying at the end when Kirk is recovered is a great scene. Fun ep all around. pic.twitter.com/gwCvWPmOiJ
